i dont get it though must all movie posters/teaser be snazzy or attention grabbing..you must not be a conceptual person...

You must not possess any brains, because you obviously don't know what a teaser poster is.

Oops, that last comnment was me referring to Anonynmous No. 3 and NOT the S'kali team.

We need one of that hottie Davina Goh, that's what we need, man.

that's the thing with the industry here, everything has to be in your face or direct. We (ppl in the film industry) never allow the society here to grow and to think. We've become a spoon fed society/community. Personally i think the Perantauan Pictures are going into the right direction. More suttle in visual and concept. I don't know about the movie though if it has a saturated feel to it like some of the Wong Kar wai movie would be excellent though. looking at the teaser be it that it's not catchy for some, i get the intention of the production ppl..their leaving it up to us to figure it out. Two thumbs up.

Anonymous, you are really talking a lot of pretentious rubbish. Saturated? Wong Karwai? Subtle?

Tell me what's so subtle about the teaser poster? What clues does it leave us? What does it hint at?

As Arivind himself has said, this is a commercial venture, not an arty wank. So the poster has to be snazzy, attention-grabbing and really give potential audience something to talk about and look forward to.

I am sure the Skali team would agree with me on this point, even if they disagree with me that the poster is not catchy enough. Right, guys?

just want to reiterate that just because its a commercial venture it doesn't mean it can't be an "arty wank" film. We'll just have to wait for the movie's release.

its a teaser man..it works..the poster made me wonder wht kind of movie will it be...

er...it's really confusing when "anonymous" is arguing with "anonymous", especially when the same "anonymous" sometimes posts 2 or 3 messages consecutively... can't u guys like, put a pseudonym instead?

i personally quite like it myself... from the Polaroids I guess it's like, about memories n stuff? n there's mamak cups n we noe they shot scenes in a mamak

stupid me went and put a pseudonym even when i signed in as myself. DOH!

the concept for a teaser is that you're supposed to get an idea of what the film is about. it's not supposed to make you wonder what it's about.

i believe the poster should indicate more of the basic premise of S'kali.

xtan,

"they shot scenes in a mamak"

LOL! that was a typo, right? :D

btw, u got a nice discussion going on here.

hey the visitor,

no,it's not a typo... I meant they shot (as in filmed, as in during the shoot) certain scenes in a mamak, as you can tell from the production stills they put up.

they shot scenes *in* a mamak?!

Why?! How? A colonoscope? Poor mamak.

aiyo, a mamak as in a mamak RESTAURANT la, not a Mamak person who is half malay half indian.

normal Malaysians usually say "let's go mamak" and u wouldn't question that they meant having teh ais/roti in a mamak stall,no?
